About the Chronicles
Where midlife becomes a beautiful new beginning.
The Chronicles of a Mid-Century Woman is a storytelling and reflection space created for women navigating the powerful, often complicated season of midlife. Through honest stories, faith-centered reflection, and creative inspiration, this space reminds women that it's never too late to rise, rebuild, and redefine what comes next.
This Season of My Life
Have you ever felt that pull? You know…that thing that won’t leave you alone—the dream, the idea, the “what if” that keeps showing up in your quiet moments? Maybe it feels too big, too late, too risky for where you are in life. But it’s there. And it just won’t shut up.
That’s where I was a few years ago when I entered my glorious 50s — that period when you’re supposed to have everything figured out, even when you don’t, when all of a sudden, everybody begins to call you "Ma'am," and when your mailbox gets flooded with those "early bird special" senior discount coupons. Oh yeah and did I mention I was going through menopause? I was just remarried, blending a household full of kids—mine, his, ours—moving to a whole new state, and walking away from a six-figure job that looked great on paper but simply not feeding my soul. Everything was up in the air. Everything felt uncertain. And honestly? I was scared.
But I was also awake.
For the first time in a long time, I wanted something more, something different than writing speeches for executives or web copy for universities. Although that part of my life had its season, I had this burning desire to write...for me. The kind that comes from the gut. The kind that tells the truth about what it’s really like to be a woman over 50 who’s still raising kids, still working, still figuring out who she is, and still dreaming dreams that society says she’s too old to chase.
Let’s be real: our culture doesn’t know what to do with women like us. We’re supposed to look 28, act grateful for whatever tidbits of relevance we’re given, and definitely not make too much noise about still having ambitions. God forbid we don’t have it all together like those celebrity moms with nannies and personal trainers and perfectly curated Instagram feeds. (Not hating...just sayin')
Yeah, that’s not me. And I’m guessing it’s not you either.
I started The Chronicles because I wanted a place to be honest. To show the messy, beautiful, complicated reality of starting over in midlife. To prove to myself that it’s not too late. That being 50+ isn’t the end of anything. It’s the beginning of something we get to define for ourselves.
This isn’t a midlife crisis. This is a beautiful new awakening. A turning point. A chance to rise, rebuild, and redefine what comes next.
So, if you’re here because you’re tired of feeling invisible, or because you’re done shrinking yourself to fit someone else’s expectations, or because you’ve got dreams you’re finally ready to chase...then welcome, sis. You’re not alone. And you’re definitely not too late.
This is where 50 is the new 50. Not some younger version we’re trying to get back to. Just us. Beautifully, powerfully, unapologetically us. We are mature. We are confident. We are wise.

Our vision is to cultivate a global sisterhood of midlife women who embrace this season of life as a sacred turning point—one marked by healing, wisdom, joy, and the courage to begin again. Through honest storytelling, faith-filled reflection, and creative inspiration, we envision a community where women feel deeply connected, spiritually grounded, and empowered to step into their next chapter with confidence, clarity, and renewed purpose. We see midlife not as an ending, but as a beautiful becoming—and we are here to walk alongside every woman as she rises into the fullness of her story.
